Cheryl knew she wanted to teach at the early age of 6, and her teacher mother instilled in all of her 6 children the lifelong love of learning. Cheryl has a B.S. degree in Elementary Education K-8 and a B.S. degree in Early Childhood/Child and Family Development from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO. She has experience as a Preschool Teacher, PreKindergarten Teacher, Kindergarten Teacher, Reading Specialist, Parent Educator, and career Substitute Teacher in pre-K through 8th grades in private and public schools in Florida, Texas, Missouri and Illinois.

Other teaching experiences have included teaching quilting and sewing to both children and adults at a local quilt shop and at various camps. She also worked during the inaugural year as a Lead Thinker and Spring Camp Lead Teacher at the Thinkery, Austin's children museum.

During the 2015-16 school year, Cheryl enjoyed working as the Aftercare Lead Mentor and a regular substitute teacher at WLLC, along with assisting with the World of Arts class, Wearable Arts class, Whole Life Learning class and French class.
